How to write 100 in words
The number 100 is written “one hundred” in British English.
Because 100 is below one thousand it is a single group: name the hundreds and stop. That gives “one hundred”.
In running text the number is normally lowercase: “the fee is one hundred pounds”. At the start of a sentence, in a heading, or on a legal document it takes capitals: One Hundred. Formal documents often give both forms together, for example “one hundred (100)”, so that a reader can check one against the other.

Common mistakes when writing 100
- Pluralising the group words. It is hundred, never “hundreds”, “thousands” or “millions” after a number.
- Mixing words and figures. In running text keep to one style: one hundred or 100, not 100 (one hundred) unless it is a legal document.
